Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a report submitted by Dr. Hisham Farouk, Assistant Minister for Digital Transformation and Executive Director of the Higher Education Development Projects Unit, on the technical support and follow-up team for projects to support and qualify academic programs in Egyptian universities for international accreditation (SQEPIA) to organize the first contracting session It was agreed upon with a number of colleges with financial support of approximately 45 million pounds, and the organization of the project to support, follow-up and develop educational effectiveness (SDEE) for the fourth session contracted with a number of colleges with financial support of 22 million pounds.
where several visits were carried out; To follow up and provide technical, material and logistical support to a number of faculties during the month of March 2022, namely: the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry at Kafr El-Sheikh University within the projects to develop educational effectiveness SDEE4), and the faculties of Engineering and Nursing at Assiut University within the projects of qualifying academic programs for international accreditation (SQEPIA1)). In order to find out what has been accomplished of the executive plan for the activities of the projects they obtained, review the accreditation standards, provide the necessary technical support, and follow up on the preparation of colleges for self-study to be submitted to international accreditation bodies (ABET & AHGPS).
The report indicated that the projects’ outputs are progressing regularly according to the time frame specified in the projects’ implementation plans, as the installation lab, radiology lab, and automatic acidification lab of the Faculty of Dentistry at Kafrelsheikh University have been completed, and the application files for accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation have been completed by 70%. Preparations are underway for a simulation visit.
As for the Faculty of Medicine at Kafrelsheikh University, the establishment and equipment of the medical education development unit, computer labs, clinical laboratories, and the purchase of simulation models has been completed, and the purchase of devices and equipment contained in the project proposal’s executive plan is underway, and preparations for a simulation visit have been completed, and progress files have been completed. For accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education by 60%.
With regard to the Faculty of Nursing at Assiut University, the report noted that the virtual laboratory of the intensive care unit was completed, contracting with the international accreditation body (AHGPS) and preparation of (7 criteria) for applying for accreditation, and the preparation of the self-study is underway to be submitted to the accreditation body and the date of the visit is set .
As for the Faculty of Engineering at Assiut University, the report indicated that tenders are being launched to purchase the necessary equipment and devices for the electrical engineering program, and a self-study is being prepared for submission to the international accreditation body (ABET).
On the other hand, Dr. Mohamed El-Shazly, Project Manager of Quality Support in the Projects Unit, said that the tasks of the visits team are; Providing technical and logistical support for the projects obtained through direct meetings with college administrations, project coordinators, faculty members, students and all community parties, and preparing workshops; To determine the faculties' needs of the infrastructure "student laboratories - classrooms - computer laboratories and others).

Al-Shazly said that the purpose of the visits is to rehabilitate academic programs; To obtain international accreditation from internationally recognized bodies, by fulfilling international accreditation standards, in line with the requirements of contracted international bodies, and preparing self-study during the specified time periods within the project proposal, in addition to developing existing educational programs in accordance with adopted and compatible academic reference standards With the requirements of quality assurance and approved by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and the development of teaching and learning methods to include non-traditional methods that are compatible with modern learning systems,Through training and workshops, activating the program quality system starting with description, evaluation, benefiting from feedback, internal and external review, preparing program reports, developing and implementing an improvement plan; With the aim of raising the efficiency of the practical, applied and societal system of scientific content, developing strategies for teaching and learning with the participation of the concerned parties, and increasing the participation of faculty members, the supporting body, and students in activating the quality system of educational programs and developing assessment methods and examination systems, in order to ensure the achievement of targeted educational outcomes through the application of Curriculum maps in addition to ensuring justice, non-discrimination, and surveying students and faculty members,community parties on the level of educational effectiveness, and participation in annual forums at the level of contracting institutions in the participating universities; To disseminate good practices in various fields and publish events of meetings, statements, electronic information and paper publications.
On his part, Dr. El-Sawy Ahmed, a quality expert and consultant at the Higher Education Development Projects Unit, said that one of the most important outcomes of the follow-up to these projects is; Raising the classification of Egyptian universities through the international accreditation of programs, the adoption of international standards for accreditation, in addition to contributing to the provision of an educational environment that raises the level of educational effectiveness at the first university level, in a way that ensures the supply of society with graduates with specifications that meet the requirements of the labor market, and the establishment of an advanced educational environment that allows the provision of programs Educational references with academic reference standards that achieve the required graduate specifications, and provide competencies and expertise to be trained and qualified to carry out planning, implementation, follow-up and evaluation work, in addition to contributing their expertise to serving the community surrounding each university.
