The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation held a meeting, yesterday evening, Sunday, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Council,

And in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Hassanein, Vice President of the Federation, Dr. Arafa Salameh, Secretary General of the Federation, and members of the Council, at the Ministry's headquarters.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister valued the efforts of the Sports Federation in organizing the Ramadan session after stopping it during the past two years due to the Corona pandemic, which took place with the participation of (32) Egyptian universities, with a total number of participants in the session 12 thousand students representing the number of 456 colleges and 45 institutes, thanking the captain Ahmed Schubert, member of the Board of Directors of the Universities Sports Federation and general supervisor of the Ramadan session, for his distinguished support for the session, as well as the media coverage of it.

The minister called on the union to prepare for organizing the activities of the summer session for Egyptian universities and institutes at the beginning of the summer semester in cooperation with coastal universities.

During the meeting, Dr. Arafa Salama reviewed the conclusion of the Ramadan session competitions for Egyptian universities and higher institutes, which began on April 7, noting that the results of the semi-finals resulted in the rise of universities:

Beni Suef, Horus, South Wadi, and Banha, pointing to the end of the qualifying stage competitions for the final round and the closing ceremony yesterday, Sunday, and the identification of the first four winning places in the session, at the club’s headquarters in the city of October 6, in cooperation between the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities and the Central Administration for Sports Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Under the slogan (Ramadan, you are better).

The Council agreed to support the scientific conference “Sports Legislation and Laws, the Language of the Age in the Arab World,” to be held from May 30-31, provided that the conference’s topics include the development of university sports.

The council also agreed to organize the Ramadan session for international students for a period of three days, from 27 to 29 April.

The Council was informed that the Universities Sports Federation received 126 female students in three groups from the Faculty of Physical Education for Girls at Helwan University; To introduce them to the organizational structure of the federation, as well as its various sports activities.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar honored the delegation of the Egyptian team for universities for its participation in the World Universities Championship in Fin Swimming.

Which was held in Italy from March 30 to April 3, with the participation of 90 male and female students from 55 universities in 15 countries around the world.

It is worth noting that the Arab Republic of Egypt is the only Arab and African country to participate in this tournament.
